• 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon garlic
  • 1/4 cup tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 2 star anises
  • 2 1/2 to 3 pounds pork loin, boneless



Place all ingredients (except pork loin) in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and let cool. Remove all fat from pork. Place pork in a bag and add arinade. Then seal and toss to coat thoroughly. Let sit 24-48 hours. To cook, turn gas broiler on and sear pork then turn off one side. Place meat on this side, close cover and cook for about 30 to 45 minutes or until internal temperature is 155 degrees F. Let sit one half hour, then slice and serve with chilled Oriental Pasta Salad
